About Tirupati Airport

Tirupati Airport, (IATA: TIR, ICAO: VOTP) also known as Renigunta Airport,
is located at Renigunta in Chittoor district in the state of Andhra Pradesh,
India. The airport is 14 km from Tirupati city.

international flights during peak hours after the expansion and upgradation
of the airport initiated on September 2010. All this remains on paper as the
airport works have not moved an inch. The works were entrusted to a
contractor, who came up with the lowest bid, and after some initial
momentum, everything came to an abrupt end. Reasons given by contractor is
the soil was not viable for airport works.

After long delay and finally, the new Integrated Terminal Building was
inaugurated on 22 October 2015 by Prime Minister on India, Narendra Modi,
the new terminal popularly known as ‘Garuda Terminal’, at the Tirupati
	Airport.
