Jeypore Airport
 
               
	Jeypore Airport (IATA: PYB, ICAO: VEJP) is located 3 km north-west of the 
	town of Jeypore in Odisha, India. The airstrip was constructed in 1962 along 
	with the establishment of a Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) factory 
	nearby at Sunabeda.
	
	The Airport are used by Vayudoot in 1980s to operated a daily Bhubaneswar-bound 
	flight via Visakhapatnam but later stopped due to lack of passengers.
	
	The Airport is spread over 60 acres. It has one asphalt runway, oriented 
	16/34, 3000 feet (914 m) long and 1,952 feet (595 m) elevation above sea 
	level.
	
	The state government has asked the Koraput district administration to 
	identify another 310 acres of land adjoining the existing airstrip to 
	facilitate its expansion. The Odisha government has made a provision of Rs 6 
	crore for the renovation of the airstrip.
	
	The Airport is managed and controlled by 
	Airports Authority of India (AAI).
	
	Airlines and Destinations
	
	Air Odisha is starting chartered services to Jeypore Airport on July 2015 
	from its main hub at Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar.
	
	Daily return flights to Bhubaneswar are slated to launch later this year 
	(2016) using the carrier's fleet of Cessna (single turboprop) Grand Caravan 
	208Bs. Air Odisha says it is still awaiting security clearance as well as 
	the nod from the airport's operator to commence flights.
	
	On October 20, 2022, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) 
	granted Jeypore Airport the license to carry out commercial flight 
	operations under the regional connectivity scheme.
	
	In October 31, 2022, the regional airline carrier, IndiaOne Air, began 
	direct flight services from the Airport to Bhubaneswar.
