Shri Siddheshwar Temple
Baramati is famous for its two ancient temples,
Shri Kashivishweshwar Temple
and Shri Siddheshwar Temple, which were constructed around 750 AD.
Shri Siddheshwar Temple is located on the eastern bank of the River Karha in
Baramati. The temple was built in 750 AD and showcases the beautiful
architectural work of that period.
It is believed that Shri Siddharameshwar himself built the temple after his
guru Mallikarjun asked him to spread the Shiva lingams across the city. The
temple houses a beautiful sculpture and idol of Nandi, which attracts a
number of devotees and travellers.
Getting There
Baramati is well connected by road with major cities in the State. Baramati
is 100 km from Pune by road. It connects to major highways via the road
network. Baramati is also well connected by Rail Network to Pune via Daund
Junction.
The condition of roads in the city is very good and there is a ring road
built around the periphery of the city.
Baramati has its own domestic airport known as the
Baramati Airport.
The airport is situated at a distance of about 12 km from Baramati city's
Baramati Railway Station. It is currently being used for general aviation
and pilot training.
Pune Airport is the nearest
international / domestic airport located at 110 km away. Buses and taxis are
available at the airport.
