Lakhi Jungle
Lakhi Jungle is situated 15 km from Bathinda, on the way to Muktsar. It is a
historical shrine situated in Bathinda district of Punjab. A forest having
old Gurudwara enjoyed the touches of Shri Guru Nanak Dev who recited one
lakh (100,000) holy Paths of Shri Japuji Sahib.
He also blessed the sarovar, that a person who will do ishnaan here will get
relief from all sorrows. Therefore it was called Lakhi Jungle. Ninth Sikh
Guru, Guru Teg Bahadur, and Tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh also visited
this place.
Getting There
Bathinda is well connected by good roads to Chandigarh, Amritsar and
Ludhiana.
Bathinda Railway Station are rail station which provides rail connectivity
to the city. Bathinda is well linked both within and outside the state of
Punjab.
The nearest international airport is
Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee
International Airport, located in Amritsar, 180 kms away. It is a three
and the half hour drive to Bathinda from Amritsar.
