Dr Bhimrao
Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Prateek Sthal (also known as Ambedkar
Memorial, Ambedkar Park) is a memorial dedicated to the glory of Phule,
Narayan Guru, Shahuji Maharaj, Bhimrao Ambedkar, Kanshi Ram and other
who devoted their life for humanity, equality and social justice. This
memorial is constructed by Mayawati, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh
during the regime of BSP at Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
The entire
memorial is built using red sandstone brought from Rajasthan. It is
built in the posh locality of Gomti Nagar which is the largest planned
residential colony of India. Cost of the memorial is estimated at seven
billion Rupees. Its name was changed from Ambedkar park to Bhimrao
Ambedkar memorial in May 2002. |
Ambedkar Stupa
This construction is the heart of the entire Memorial. The sanctum
sanctorum consists of many statues depicting the biography of Ambedkar.
There
are four doors in opposite directions. This is a construction in the
shape of flower with four petals.
There is a statue of Ambedkar seated in a chair, facing towards the
two domes. At the bottom of the statue a message in Hindi reads:
' मेरा जीवन संघर्ष ही मेरा संदेश है '
(Mera Jeevan Sangharsh hi Mera Sandesh Hai)
(My Struggle of life is My only message) |

Pratibimb Sthal
It is the main entrance to the memorial guarded by statues of 62
elephants either side of the way.
Getting There
Lucknow is

Chennai, Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Jammu Tawi, Guwahati, Chandigarh, Pune,
Jaipur and Bhopal either by Lucknow Charbagh(N.R.) or by Lucknow

is situated at Amausi in the city of Lucknow, India.
