The Temple
situated in Meerut Cantt. area is devoted to Lord Shiva. It is said that
the spark of the first war of independence of India 1857 first fell and
then raged into a flame from here. Soldiers of the Kali Paltan, a part
of "British Army', often come to quench their thirst from the well in
the Temple premises. It was the taunting by the chief priest of the
temple on the matter of disputed cartridges sealed by.
