Atariya Temple

Atariya Temple is considered as one of the famous tourist attractions and is situated 2 km from the bus stand of Rudrapur. The Atariya Temple is dedicated to Goddess Atariya and is a chief religious centre which is associated with a mythological legend.

As per its history, it is believed that King Rudra's chariot got stuck in the marshy area when he was passing by. This encouraged him to build a temple and a well at that spot. A 10 day fair is held every year during the time of Navratri and pilgrims from all over visit the temple.

 

 

Getting There

Rudrapur is approachable by air, rail and road. The rail links to popular railway stations of Ramnagar, Kathgodam, Moradabad, Bareilly, Delhi and Lucknow which are all nearby and National Highway NH74 passing through this place, travelers find it easy to reach Kashipur and visit Atariya Temple there without any difficulty.

Pantnagar Airport is the nearest airport which is located around 14 kms from Rudrapur. Taxis are easily available from Pantnagar Airport to Rudrapur. There are four round trips flight from the Airport to Delhi weekly.
