American Airlines Lost & Found

If you’ve misplaced an item while traveling with American Airlines from an Indian airport such as Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) or Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM), the recovery process depends on where the item was lost.

Lost Items Onboard or at the Gate

If you left something on the aircraft or at the boarding gate, notify American Airlines staff at the airport immediately. You can visit the Baggage Service Office near the baggage claim area or speak to an airline representative at the departure gate if you are still inside the terminal.

After leaving the airport, you can file a Lost & Found report through American Airlines’ official website. Be sure to provide details such as your flight number, travel date, and a full description of the item. The airline will typically attempt to locate your belongings for up to 30 days.

Delayed or Lost Checked Baggage

If your checked baggage does not arrive, report it to the Baggage Service Office before leaving the airport. You will receive a reference number to track your bag’s status. If the bag remains missing after five days, you may be required to submit a more detailed claim form and could be eligible for compensation.
