Ambrai Restaurant provides
international cuisine in this perfect environment. The restaurant is
part of a heritage hotel and is basically on a corner of the property.
The Heritage Hotel is same as Taj Hotel except the space at the back
side of the hotel. The ambiance is amazing but mostly in part due to the
beautiful lighting of the hotels and palaces on Lake Pichola. The trees
are lined with pretty lanterns and the tables lit with candles.
During the winters,
when the temperature falls down drastically they provide Mashals with
red burning charcoals to keep you warm throughout the dinner. Ambrai
feels like being in a French garden, with furniture made up of wrought
iron and tall shady trees overhead. A fantastic bar is made by Ambrai
Restaurant to complement the dining. To make thew atmosphere of the
hotel more romantic, a light traditional music is being performed live.
Don't feel uncomfortable seeing the couples around. Ambrai Restaurant is
one of the finest restaurant in India with such a magnificent view and
great food.
To get to there, head to the Hanuman Ghat area and keep walking along
the road that runs parallel to
Lake Pichola as far as you can, past the
Amet Haveli hotel and Ambrai restaurant.
Ambrai Ghat is nearer to Taj Lake Palace, City Palace and is on the
banks of
Lake Pichola. For getting the magnificent views from Pichola
Lake, Jetty or boat ride is provided. The pristine blue waters of the
lake leave a soothing impact on the spectator. At the time sun-set, a
boat ride in this lake is sufficient to enthrall anyone.
In the praise of
Lake Pichola and Ambrai Ghat, Rudyard Kipling mentioned
in his Letters of Marque (1899), "If the Venetian owned the
Lake Pichola, he might say with justice, `see it and die'".
Lastly, the lake side view, the glittering landscape with
Lake Pichola in
the middle, the cool, nerve-soothing breeze combined with soft,
soul-stirring live music along with the slowly intoxicating red wine set
the mood perfectly and can make it the most memorable experience of a
life. It perfectly satisfies the name 'Venice of the east' given to Udaipur.
