City Palace Complex
Standing on the bank of lake Pichola, are massive series of palaces
built at different time commencing from 1559 A.D. The balconies of the
palace provide panoramic view of "Jag Niwas" (Now world wide famous Lake
palace hotel), Jag Mandir on one side and on the other the city of
Udaipur.

Bagore Ki Haveli
Another place of architectural splendor, Bagore Ki Haveli was built in
the late 18th century by the Prime Minister of Mewar. It's located on
the edge of Lake Pichola, at Gangaur Ghat (which is a relaxing place to
sit by the water). After five years of restoration work, the Haveli was
converted into a museum.

Fateh Sagar Lake
Is the
second artificial lake of Udaipur, the first being Jaisamand lake.
Located in the north of Lake Pichola, Fateh Sagar Lake lies just besides
the entrance to Moti Magri Hill. Built in 1678 by Maharana Jai Singh,
Fateh Sagar Lake got its name from Maharana Fateh Singh, who later made
additions to it. |

Lake Pichola
A beautiful lake, overlooked by a number of hills on the three sides and
the Pratap Memorial on the north was built by Maharana Fateh Singh. In
the middle of the lake is Nehru Park - a lovely garden island with a
boat shaped cafe accessible by an enjoyable boat ride.

Ambrai Ghat
Udaipur has many vantage points for photography but arguably the best
one is Ambrai Ghat, especially at sunset. It's located directly opposite
the City Palace and also fronts the Lake Palace hotel, so you have an
unsurpassed view of both as their lights are turned on.

Monsoon Palace
A former Monsoon Palace 1100ft. high above the surrounding and 3100 ft.
from sea level was built by Maharana Sajjan Singh in 1884. The palace
looks its best during the rainy season. It offers a panoramic overview
of the city's lakes, palaces and surrounding country side.

Jagdish Temple
Jagdishji, is a major monument and should be seen carefully. Raised on a
tall terrace and completed in 1651, it is a tribute alike to the
tenacity of its builders and the resilence of the art - tradition it
represents.

Udaipur Ropeway
Red cable cars ferry sightseers on short (five minutes one way) trips up
the hill from Deen Dayal Park at Doodh Talai (next to the Shiv Niwas
Palace hotel) to Karni Mata temple.

Shilpgram
West Zone Cultural Centre in Udaipur has set up an artisan's village
called - Shilpgram, 3 Kms west of Udaipur. It is a living ethnographic
museum depecting life style, traditions, customs and folk arts of the
rural and tribal people of the states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujrat,
Goa, Daman, etc. |

Jag Mandir
In the middle of lake Pichhola is the island palace Jag Mandir where
prince Khuman Singh Later known as emperor Shahjahan who built world
fame Taj Mahal, sought refuse from his father emperor Jahangir. This
three story building was completed by Maharana Jagat Singh Ist in 1652

Boat Ride
Famed as the ‘Venice of the East’, a visit to Udaipur is incomplete
without taking a boat ride to the resplendent Jag Mandir Palace. This
hour long journey gives you splendid views of the City Palace complex,
the picturesque ghats, Sajjangarh and Bagore ki Haveli.
