Widely famous as the "Banana
Capital of India”, Jalgaon is one of the largest cities of the state of
Maharashtra and is situated on the northern Deccan Plateau. This district is
widely known for the huge business of bananas and thus it is known as the
"Banana Capital" of India worldwide. It is the only district that produces
more than 16% of India's bananas which comes to 3% of world’s banana
production.
Jalgaon travel guide is full of historical and pilgrim references. Parola
Fort, Padmalaya, Shree Manudevi and Omkareshwar Mandir are worth visiting in
the city. Jalgaon is also the native land of the 12th President of India,
Pratibha Patil. It is an essential center for cotton-textile and vegetable

road, railways and air to the rest of the country.
Jalgaon Railway Station lies on
the main railway line. Several trains like Karnataka Express, Punjab Mail,
Navjeevan Express, Jabalpur Garibrath Express, etc. have a stop at Jalgaon.
Recently some more express trains like Gitanjali Express, Goa Express and
Sachakhand Express have also been provided with stoppage.
Jalgaon Airport
is about 6 kilometers away from the city center. Currently there are
no scheduled airlines operating at this Airport. The nearest
domestic airport from Jalgaon is Aurangabad
Airport, located at Aurangabad, roughly 160 km from Jalgaon via
Aurangabad - Ajanta - Jalgaon Road.
